it has all past so quickly. can't believe that CNY holiday is almost over. it has been non-stop action since saturday (i.e. CNY eve) but it was quite fun actually...*ahem* ang pow collection aside. but i'm glad and proud to say that i don't visit for the ang pows...but i wonder how many others do...

CNY eve...
'ron, 'vin, 'leen and the rest came over. didn't do much, just watched a bit of U2 concert on the big screen (any screen bigger than my 17" monitor is counted as "big") and because apparently my taste was so unique that no one wanted to watch U2 so my father played live 8 concert instead. but looked like no one was interested in watching shows where real bands play their own music...from my observation they prefer to watch shows where a performer (i won't say singer/musician) comes down the stage jiggling dancing to the music which wasn't written by him/herself and wearing strange elaborate costumes. it's weird because while i consider the former a concert and the latter a fashion show, i don't know what they considered the latter but they considered the latter a concert. hmm...something i don't understand.

after that we went to have dinner at jumbo SGCC. everything aside, i ran into joe whose family was also eating there. haha. food was ok lah...i won't say it was fantastic. but it's CNY eve so the food taste isn't given the limelight.

only 3 of us take photo cos we're on the same side of table.

CNY day 1...
i drove to ron's place and and saw msTSW...at 'ron's house we had a homecooked lunch whch was nice. duck and rendang was great. then the first of many gambling sessions began with small bets (max bet was $2 but not by me). caught up with a distant cousin whose my junior from NY...and ate somemore. when many of the people left, they let snoopy loose and i got to play with him. he's had a hair fur cut and looks very weird now but he's still as hyper and drools all over the place. hmm...then again it's his year so who cares what he does. and anyway, snoopy likes me cos he keeps lying down on my foot...which fees weird now that he doesn't have much fur.

later the whole bunch of us went to grandaunt3's place. we see most of those people only like once or twice a year. but they're warm people and i don't mind seeing them more often. gambled again...and talked to a few relatives (parents' cousins etc...it's complicated). then ate even more and gambled even more...talked and then ate again...so nothing much else to talk about. haha...

CNY day 2...
woke up so early and was still sleepy. drove to rach, rah and ben's house in bishan. this is usually the bunch of people i feel really out of place with. so i just stood around, while the rest of my cousins who were either a huge bunch older or younger than me were having their own conversations. most of my cousins who're in/are done with uni are in/were from biz...if not courses like law. erm...so they were first expressing shock at my choice of course...then later they were laughing in amusement at the number of modules i'm taking. so ended up playing/talking to my younger cousins instead. i talked to justin and learnt he's learnt how to swim. he likes red colour yaukult. a whole lot of other things he told me but i cannot remember. mind you, justin is only 5 years old...

after lunch was done, we went around singapore on some visiting spree. now i've been promoted to position of driver. so i drove my uncle, alvin -my cousin and 'son. haha...trip was enjoyable cos we were talking about many things other than the time i was caught on a 4-way race on the ECP. seesh. hmm alvin is studying in NBS so the next time i see him on campus i'll call him.

later in the evening we went to grandaunt5's house. i like grandaunt5 because she's always so nice to us. no matter what school we're in doing whatever course. as long as we enjoy what we're doing. there's no feeling of lousiness just cos we're not in the top schools. and her son and daughter (i.e. parents' cousins) are very nice to us...supposed to at least call them aunties or uncles but they seem nicer than some of my own cousins. i even managed to ask JL to go back for SN for fundraising stuff. left grandaunt5's house at 2am. and went to macs for more food...before KO-ing at home...

so here i am today, wondering what to do. supposed to go mrsT's house with my bro but he's going with he's friends instead so now i'm stuck at home wondering what i can do. not that i have nothing to do...i have like homework set 2 half-done and i'm hearing rumours of a maths quiz this week. though my tutuorial would technically be over for this week so probably next week.

and so we're back to the slogging pit...it can't be CNY every day right?

hmm i'm really sleepy so going to keep this short...

today was a pretty great day spent visiting. i.e. went to 'ron's place, had lunch, played a bit of cards, had dinner...and then went to grandaunt's place have dinner part 2 and played more cards.

what i went to say is on my way up to 'ron's place. i was driving past the junction of flame tree. i was in the centre left lane at the red light. suddenly i turned to look at the sunny on my right and i happened to see a sn decal on the windscreen. thought maybe i saw wrongly. but i looked carefully and i saw msTSW! haha...she wasn't looking so i just continued looking...but constantly looking at the traffic lights to see if i was supposed to go already. TSW's dad saw me doing stupid things i guess and he told msT to turn. then she saw me...but she looked really blurr-ed. haha...oh well...so much for new year surprises.

anyways as i said, i'm really sleepy so good night. tomorrow is the ultimate SIONG day every CNY...need all the energy and tolerance i can get. out!

the car wash was crazy yesterday. the queue was super long. i queued for like 40-45 minutes (that's like almost an hour lor!)...physics lecture has been rather fun. well, if i understood it, it would have been...i must get this quantum thing internalised so that i know it as well as classical or even better ASAP. i don't like learning things and they're left dangling in my brain. grr. in this case...the prof said "oh, it's a simple second order differential equation "please note that the 2 underlined words do NOT come together. "SIMPLE" does not go with "DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION" i don't even know how to do first order and he's saying SIMPLE second order. ARGH!

yesterday aside, my estimation cannot be better. i estimated that i would spend today cleaning up the mess in my room before my cousins come and i've done it. haha. even with excess time for jamming. let's see i have nothing to say about CNY except i have homework set 2 due on wednesday and up till now i'm still wondering where i'll squeeze time out to do it. sigh.

now U2 concert is playing again. AGAIN. and maybe i'll go change and get ready to go out for dinner and start working on my problems while waiting for everyone. i must get full marks this time. so got to make sure i do it properly. so much for CNY. happy new year everyone.

went to school at 12+ pm today, slightly late for computing lecture. just in time to hear the prof talking about deep blue versus human. computing lecture is honestly boring...but the tutorials are ok. so i shall not go into details. afterwhich i headed to MLT for maths. and lunched after that at the quad. again, all boring stuff which i shall not dwell on.

physics elect tutorial was ok...went through homework set 1. (which reminds me how i haven't done homework set 2) i got 19/20. almost full marks. but it's not good considering that everyone else around was getting 20/20. so that's what i meant when i said i was in a class full of scholars (pronounced scoll-las or scholar-bears as darren likes to call them). sigh it's depressing i tell you. but now prof aka dracula knows my name...ARGH! no more slacking for me. but the good news is, no physics elect tutorial next week! i.e. i go home at 2:30pm!

after tutorial i went to LWN library (a place where i haven't been for quite some time) to get some work done. yes...finally doing something about the pile of papers that's growing in my file. but it's not new work, it's clearing old tutorials like to tie up all the stuff so i can finally file them up. and i saw a guy who just got his phD taking his photos in the library. which reminded me of how i will get to wear the motar hat and graduation dress after i'm done with my degree. but the phD one still looks nicer...with the round hat and the irritating thing dangling at the side. heh. another sign that me need to work harder.

ok that's about it. nothing much to blog about, more of routine stuff. physics make-up lecture was great! attendance wasn't...but interesting topics man! quantum mechanics -- particle in a box, heisenburg uncertainty, einstein's energy-time uncertainty and schrodinger's wave equation. how can i be happier? glad i stayed back...100% no regrets.

this has been going on for quite a while now...and i thought i would never kenah tagged...but layhoon tagged me...so...

5 weird things about me:

(1) i don't like to eat sweet and salty things together...i.e. if i'm eating like sweet chocolate, i don't like to mix it with cheese wang wang. or if i'm eating mooncake, i don't like yolk in it because the yolk will taste salty in the middle of the sweet tao sa

(2) when i like a song or a specific show etc, i like to repeat the thing. like if say i like a particular song...i'll just put it on loop on my player and it'll be looping the whole day. until everyone around me gets so irritated. and this can go on forever, as long as i'm near the device that's playing the song. for example, i listened to lifehouse's blind a couple of million times, U2's miracle drug also a couple of million times...U2's vertigo tour 11 times since i got my hands on the DVD.

(3) i like physics but suck at maths. i think that's a weird thing in itself -- no explanation needed.

(4) i cannot understand the concept of shuai and chio. as in, to me everyone looks the same...maybe it's linked to how i cannot recognise people sometimes. like when i make new friends i cannot differentiate between friends. or if i see them outside class i don't know if i know them because i cannot recognise their faces. it's only faces that i have this problem with...other visual stuff is pretty ok.

(5) i can remember car numbers exceptionally well. i.e. like if i see a car parked somewhere today and i see the same car on the road tomorrow i'll know. like i'll remember "oh, i saw this car yesterday along the road outside my house". but only for car numbers and how they match the car make/model and colour etc...

ok i'm done...surprisingly easier than i thought...hmm i must be very weird then.
now i tag. let's see...all those people in my links list who read this...it's probably more than 5 but i don't think i can even tag 5 people who will do it. so whoever wants to do it, just do it! haha...

i'm back to blog more afterwhich i'm going to SLEEP. think i deserve it (i.e. the sleep) today...

i think i feel better after today. somehow the trip back has cured my so-called laziness and depression. hopefully morale and efficiency will be directly proportional and i'll finally be able to get some stuff done.

well, i didn't get to see we know who because we know why...ok well, apparently i left school after making a mad rush to finish my lab. i think i've never done a worse practical...and i thought last week was bad. sigh let's not go there. and i ran across the school of mech eng, to the carpark...

why? cos tong shou told me we know who was still in school and there was a chance i might catch her. so my hopes were up and i was dashing...didn't wait for the lift, climbed from B4 where the lab was to 1st floor and then from 1st floor to B5. argh! any idea how terrible my legs felt after that? then i tried to get out of campus as quickly as possible...and then to AMK. seesh. i've honestly never flied so fast on the highway before. it was mad. continuously at 100kph on the extreme right lane cutting in and out of traffic just to get in front. and true enough, i made it back from boon lay to AMK in 18 minutes. 18 MINUTES ok! must be an all time record...BUT it still wasn't good enough...we know who left...without remorse still declaring she was going home to tang3 yi4 xia4. (tong shou and i concluded that the opportunity cost of waiting for me was to tang3 yi4 xia4 so in other words, i'm not even worth waiting for? heh...) nah, i understand how tired some people are rite?...

then again, i wasn't surprised. guess somehow deep inside i knew i wouldn't make it. part of me was just flying for the thrill. now i understand why people enjoy speeding despite the number of public service announcements on TV. i agree with tong shou and recently i keep coming back to the same conclusion that i shouldn't be too nice to anyone...because ultimately people being people tend to take things forgranted. but in this case...well...let's just say i should not keep my hopes too high and think too much (sounds all too firmiliar?) . just got to live for myself and make more decisions by myself for myself.

talked to msL...everyone seems upbeat about AV. keep encouraging me to go do more. in a way i don't want to be involved anymore but i think i may just be swept into start bothering again. i need some time to chill out...and i don't think i've been fair to myself enough yet...mrsC wanted me to organise a AVAlumni-return-to-school-thingy-day. and fix a day where we invite all the ex-AV people back. sigh...i think back and wonder why. i know the post thing doesn't bother me anymore but i still keep thinking back to it...like why should i bother when i wasn't even the head of my era. if you know what i mean. who am i and why should i be the one to bother. in the end i may just end up being taken forgranted again. but there's the other side of me whose willing to do it, although i know in the end it'll probably turn out a big failure...or somewhat of a failure.

my thoughts always conflict -- for those who have not realised. my brain is overworked...behind that 'calm and expressionless' facade. hmm...

today i went back to sn. i'm sad because now i know my official value to SOMEONE, who rather go home and tang3 yi4 xia4 (translated to take a nap) than see me...argh! anyways that aside, i'm quite amazed that i ran into luo2 lao3 shi1 today...i literally ran into her with mrsC. hmm...

me and tong shou played soccer for a while with KW and KX in the school field with mrN...it was fun but i must say my stamina is really lousy now since i haven't played in a year and a few months.

sigh ok lah, wanted to share some lame jokes i was saying today but i'm really too tired to recall what i have said. so let's just forget it. i have a lousy muscle ache in my leg now. owww...

today didn't turn out as bad as i thought it would be. if every tuesday were like that i might just survive this semester. and going to monday's chemistry lecture does help a whole lot.

DP and CH are great company while waiting for accounting tutorial to start. and as a sidenote, more and more people cannot stand my lame-ness. that they in lecture, SH had to move away cos i was simply untolerable...heh.

chinese new year is coming and the number of make up lessons i have is fantastic.
ok, more work tomorrow...will i go back to sn? we'll see...

today we played One of These Nights by the Eagles. it's a nice song...can't wait to master the solo then i'll be super pro. haha...but actually it's a rather easy piece actually, just the E minor pentatonic scale. with a lot of prebends. oh wells...DC plays everything like it's the simplest thing ever so what's new. we were trying the slides from 0-12 frets and upstroke for the 12-12-12...so it was sort of like a slide then *jang* then slide then *jang* again. quite fun...DC enjoyed it...*jang*-ing the whole way through. so he play play and suddenly the *jang*-ing came out of nowhere...

wonder how much sense the above paragraph made.

ray: hey can borrow pen?
DC: sure, cannot...*grinning stupidly*

lame stuff aside, the strumming part sounds like he put a wah-pedal. but DC said it was the crappy guitar...let's not say what guitar it was...haha. just couldn't stop laughing.

my life revolves around nothing much at the moment -- school and EG. and trust me, you don't want to know about the former...so let me just tell u about EG...

i've given up on my tutorials. not going to do them. the sight of them makes me sleepy. so tomorrow i'll just be going to class to copy the solutions and hopefully come home to work on them. ARGH i got to start getting work done. efficiency seems to be dropping this sem. maybe because i haven't been attending lectures enough.

and now, 2 weeks without guitar. my life going to be even slower moving...but looking at it, 2 weeks to master the song...hmm

sigh i just checked edventure (i.e. our school learning portal thingy) and realised i have a PAP113 homework set due right after CNY. i'm honestly really tired and i keep questioning myself again and again on whether i'm really going to survive this sem. i'm so afraid i'll see sliding grades. but i still want to have my life...on top of all the crappy work i've got to do.

let's see...today's technically monday. tomorrow, i have 4 tutorial sessions...maths, physics, chem and accounting. and out of 4 tutorials, i've only done 1 -- maths (quite unexpected eh?)...didn't know how to do 3/8 questions though and have NOT at all started on the rest. ARGH! and you know what? i still have no idea what chem kinetics is (jacW don't kill me). this definitely cannot go on. tomorrow when i'm back from school, i can forget about jamming and use the time to do my chem and accounting tutorial. physics can wait...i guess?

alright computing tomorrow morning. and i don't know what chapter 3 is about.

my whole brain is in a whirl...no time to think about other stuff but work. how am i going to squeeze time out to make a trip back to SN and NY? sigh...hopefully things will be better after tuesday...though by then i'll be rushing my PAP113 homework set 2! wish i had an extra brain...then one could do work while the other was sleeping...

i have made this very big decision. before the first day of CNY...hopefully before CNY eve even if it's at all possible, i aim to have no outstanding tutorials and lectures missed. in other words, i aim to know what i'm doing before chinese new year comes next saturday...so that once i'm done with the festivities, i can easily pick up where i left off without having to worry about catching up. talk about ambition eh?

after all, i do have this habit of not owing anyone anything past chinese new year. and i don't see why this shouldn't apply to owing myself anything. but i have my doubts on being able to do it.

argh. today was an ok day i guess. felt pretty happy cos i could understand phy elect. it doesn't seem as bad now as it seemed a week ago. just hope things improve then i wouldn't be sad and gain the motivation to study.

ok...now i'm off to watch more videos...and quote of the day,
"Learn to listen in class. It makes your homework a lot easier. Pay Attention."
yes 'nuff said.

Wednesday, January 18, 2006

haven't been feeling ok recently. just tired i guess, but it's quite impossible given that i've not done much. lagging behind in tutorials now...for every single module. how lousy can things get? to make things worse, i haven't got any fantastic tutors this sem. i'm so scared this would be where i stumble. i don't want it to happen...it's only year 1 sem 2...i've got so long more to go! how am i go going to make it through this?

i'm scared my GPA will drop below last sem's. i'm so scared i'll get lost for maths...and not be able to catch up because i cannot understand both lectures and tutorials. it's so tiring to work 100% by yourself...but other than that i can't come up with any other ideas. but it's nearly impossible for someone like me to study maths (of all things) by myself. i'm so scared i won't make it. i don't want my dreams to get dashed cos of this cos it simply isn't worth it.

somehow CNY this year seems to bring with it much misery and fatigue. i can't imagine the number of make-up lessons i'll have after that. it's a traumatising thought. i just want some time out by myself...hopefully pick everything up and manage to relax and get back to business once again. i don't want this to be my biggest screw-up in my university life. i don't want any screw ups for this 4 years...i just want to get my stuff right for once...even if it means being a full-time mugger. but i'm really very tired...at least for now.

yesterday's EG was ok to me...but to the rest it was demoralisingly difficult all the technical exercises. think DC could see how sian-ed everyone was. but he turned out saying it's ok cos we're just there to enjoy ourselves while learning the instrument. guess that's why i like EG so much (many people i know can't understand why). it's the 60 minutes i set aside each week where i really just put in all my effort into something i like and enjoy myself away from the world in the soundproof studio. what else can provide me that?

wish one day i'll be good enough to perform though. sighs. am having some trouble with pull-offs at the moment, hammer-on is alright, but pull-offs just no sound. haha. DC says lack of practice, can i say he's wrong? no...cos he's right...everything in music can be attribute (to various degrees) of lack of practice.

can't wait to start on the new song...One of these Nights by the Eagles. DC doesn't know how to photocopy, he chopped off the title and said it was censored -_-"
but i didn't get the chance today. left house at 8am and came home at 10pm...tomorrow i'm going to work on the song the moment i reach home. oh the long school day is terrible, makes me all depressed...

but ikea trip was nice. had meatballs, chicken wings and ice-cream. jac and jh, stop saying i tempt you lah...cos if you don't want to eat, you won't eat no matter what i say. and i know you all were enjoying the food. bleah!

i'm so sorry to jh cos i overslept today. i'm sick but don't look sick...weird, but one thing's for sure, i defintely feel sick...just trying not to deceive the entire world. i have had on and off fever since thursday. uncle doc ripped me off and now my heart's in pain too...

today's coomputing was fun...wrote several programs, one to calculate velocity of falling object and allowed the user to input various factors. then i wrote another program to calculate current in series circuit with 3 resistors...i think i like computing...so i plan to download the free compiler to play although i didn't want to initially. and after computing i am back here because i don't think i'll survive physics lecture and i have 4 tutorials to do by 5pm today.

anyways, i am quite happy and satisfied because i conquered my fear of ___________ by doing __________. fill in the blanks and have a nice day.

i have this strange urge to learn bass after hearing U2's Love and Peace or Else...

and i've been wanting to change my layout for quite sometime now...just that i can't even find decent time to finish my tutorials so not to mention bother about this blog. and yet, i can spend so many hours sleeping a day. sleeping is something i cannot help...perhaps because i've been overworking my brain and it's not getting sufficient sleep.

maths is becoming my mother tongue now...and english is the 2nd language while mandrin is 3rd. every single module i attend instructs in maths. and given my lousy maths standard, it's little surprise i can't understand so many things. please note that maths isn't numbers...maths is all those greek symbols...it's no longer primary school...

ok lah, i should get back to linear wave equation for waves on a spring i just finished the part on waves on a string. and all i'm seeing is partial derivitive of phi over partial deritive of x. now i know why they talk in maths and not english...see how long "partial derivitive of phi over partial deritive of x" is compared with d(phi)/dx? where the d isn't "d" but the partial derivative one...should shut up before someone shoots me. heh.

been neglecting computing, chemistry and maths...all i've been doing these few days is physics, physics and accounting. my poor brain. i have a computing tutorial on monday...and what's done? NOTHING. and i still think about changing blog layout.

that's it...it's back to brain workout time. goodbye everyone.

i didn't go to school today. i think i let myself off to easily. i woke up at 6:40am shivering. could have woke up...but i just didn't feel ok. so i went back to sleep and convinced myself that could just attend web lectures instead. so in the end i only woke up at 10am. decided that i didn't want to go to school anymore. and i just realised i have a make up lecture NOW. seesh. how much lazier can i get?

i need to finish up studying my waves. argh, haven't got to linear wave equation and i'm going to fall asleep...will i ever get anything done?

in the end, went to see uncle doc..he ripped me off! $34 bucks...sigh. now i need to withdraw money again. i've done so 2-3 times this week already.

ok lecture on saturday...now i've got one tutorial too. all i need to hear is "let's have an extended lesson". there goes my saturday.

here i am watching concert again when i should be studying or rushing tutorials. recently been very into music, trying to improve my skills and figure stuff out...and then relating these stuff to what i've learnt in physics.

that aside, the thing giving me nightmares now is waves. i think tong shou wouldn't be surprised. waves was never been one of my favourite topic, but neither is it one of my hated topics...in physics, i don't think i have reached the EXTENT of hating any particular topics YET. waves is making it to that list, if i still don't catch up. the only part of prof dracula's lecture i understood was this part that he said wasn't in the syllabus. grrrrs. so know how worrying it is when my GRADED homework set is due next week and i haven't even understood the wave concept. argh. my poor brain has a lot of work to do this weekend.

i hope this rainy weather picks up and continues...at least till the CNY season. i really like it when it rains cool and nice. gloomy and grey weather really makes me feel more relaxed.

i was freakin' late for EG today. 12 minutes late. after i parked my car, i made a mad dash through the carpark across leve 6 and...guess what, i ran into DC. haha...he said "OH late...RUN RUN" so i ran. then he turned back and shouted "kidding...just go in studio first". grr...the idiot. he was going to the toilet or something. haha.

we did more technical exercises...no i don't hate technical exercises...well if this was some other instrument i just might...but no, i quite like technical exercises. scales, rifts and styles sampling. eh...there's this thing from shred guitar called dorian sounds. sounds pretty metal-ish, rock...not punk...can i describe it? a sorta muted, shredding thing that makes my pick work hard and wear out fast. but who cares, it's fun!

this sem everyone seems to be working freekishly hard. it's so scary when someone messages me on msn at 2am in the morning asking me if i've done my maths tutorial cos he didn't know how to do SOME (not a lot, SOME) questions. and i haven't even smelt anything on that tutorial past question 1(a)! arGH! will all you people just stop it. it's only Sem2 WEEK 1 for crying out loud~!

aiyah ok lah. i can't wait for tomorrow. i want to try out the technical exercises i did today. and in a way i'm glad tomorrow is a public holiday. it couldn't have come at a better time. if i go thru a solid day (i.e. 9:30am - 7:30pm) of school, i'll just die. i'm not sufficiently warmed up and ready yet. sigh...wonder when or if i'll ever be. i'm falling so behind in tutorials (relative to the rest and to lectures). i wonder if i'll ever catch up. have i overloaded myself this sem? i just hope it's not to the extent i'll screw the exams. someone help me.

jacW's entry reminded me of something. this past 2 days been having funny restaurant experiences...

(1) was at some restaurant at gardens. we had already ordered and were halfway thru the food. when my auntie wanted to order some extra dishes so she called the waiter and asked for the "receipe" (she had wanted the menu). then we said that the waiter couldn't give her that, must ask the chef. heh.

(2) we were at the fishy place and el called the waiter "HELLO!" den she started waving. haha...she didn't mean it, then was so terribly sorry after that. we kept making fun of her saying "BYE BYE!"..."BYE BYE!"

guess it's the weather driving me nuts. but i like this weather. wish everyday could be a rainy or make that VERY rainy day. although its sleep inducing, at least i'm not warm and fustrated yes?

ok back to school tomorrow. glad that tues is a holiday...though i can't imagine the number of make-up lessons i have to go thru after that. seesh.

yes i'm so dreadfully tired. since the first day school started this sem i really do wonder if i have overloaded myself.

i had the weirdest nightmare last night. i was in a chalet, with a couple of friends...and suddenly the picture shifted to this carpark where a certain someone (ask me who and maybe i'll tell you) took out 2 syringes from his/her/its car one big diameter, one small diameter...the smaller one had a needle at the end of it. and then the person demanded that i calculate the viscosity and flow rate of the water in the syringes. but i couldn't think of any solution on the spot, so he/she/it started squirting water (or some liquid) out of both syringes at me. i started running but the water (or some liquid) kept hitting me.

just then i woke up and broke out in cold sweat and was shivering. i don't know what scared me, but just thought i'd note this down because (1) it's rare that i remember a dream/nightmare so vividly, (2) it's a weird dream/nightmare...so weird it freaks me out.

ok anyways...today's physics elect lecture was slightly better. i could understand how to get the energy of a wave, but i won't be too sure if i can calculate it from scratch. maybe i should try it over the weekend.

we had a uni exchange prog today, jacW came to ntu in the morning and in the afternoon i went to smu with her. how interesting...great to see how each other's studying environment is like. both places have their perks i believe...but i'm still quite happy with where i'm studying in and what i'm studying.

in the evening i went to PS with elaine, SQ and ZM to eat at the fishy place there. fish and chips was very nice...better than if not comparable to the other fishy place across the street. then we walked around and went to the arcade to game. played daytona and TC2. wah yeah. nice slackin' and destressin' time. then i fetched ZM home and realised how close he stays to 'ron. interesting how small the world is.

so that was how i spent my day.
ok lah...i'm quite sleepy. supposed to be reading reaction kinetics. but no way. so tired.

oh i fogot to say something. i nearly lost my wallet today. i was at the WNL lib, checking out some subject registration stuff and checking to see if i needed to print any notes. i took out my wallet to keep my atm card cos i had just bought something and i have this stupid habit of stuffing everything into my pocket when the cashier returns stuff to me. so anyways, i think i put my wallet on the table i.e. in front of the com. and then my webpage loaded so i did my stuff and somewhere along the way, unknowingly, i dropped my wallet on the floor. and thus totally forgot about it.

lucky that i realised my wallet was gone merely after taking a few steps away from the com. so i went back to the terminal to look for it, but it wasn't there. i was flustered though i wasn't showing it. gosh...bet no one knows i can panic too. and then i approached the guy who was sitting at the place after i left...he helped me look for it. he didn't have to you know, he could have just said "no i didn't see it." but he didn't and in the end he found it on the floor. you know, i can't be anymore grateful to him. seesh. thanks so much brudder. though i doubt he'll read this. one big sigh of relief.

i got both electives i wanted...so that's the good news.

today i went for physics lecture - somehow it felt more like a tutorial cos there were quite few students. and i didn't know whether to laugh or to die cry. i was in a room fool full of scholars. it's intimidating sia. and we learnt schrodinger's wave equation today -- hmm no cats yet. but anyways, partial differentiation is something i need to understand quite badly. i've got a rough idea, but need to link it up with my notes. thought physics was supposed to make me happy, think my life has become miserable.

prof was good. he's from norway...cool. and he talks with this accent...reminds me of "i wanna suck your blood muahahahaha..." - darn i'm so mean.

at first i was happy because he introduced waves (someone's favourite)...and i thought there were no equations involved. but self-deception does not work and even if it did wouldn't have lasted long. cos soon, the equations came fast and furious i didn't know what i was doing anymore. so maybe that's my problem when it comes to physics...i tend to take forever to absorb equations and derive forumlae probably due to my lousy maths foundation and it didn't help being in a room filled with brains that were so powderful i mean powerful that they did stuff so freakingly FAST. seesh.

so that was my first physics minor tutorial lecture. i wonder how tutorials will be. one thing's for sure, i hope profH doesn't come around to develop a preference of calling me to answer. my first question set is due on the 18th. i need to make friends with a maths pro very badly...any takers?

after lesson, i came home and crashed. i was already crashing on the route home. sleepy drivers are super dangerous people. i couldn't keep to the lane, and kept veering off to the right everytime i nodded off. i wonder how many drivers had to avoid me today...i actually nodded off on the road...ARGH. and at this traffic stop, i nearly released my brakes and whacked the lorry in front of me cos i was so tired.

i came home, took a short nap and went to TP where i ran into mrsT. haha...just when i was looking for someone to complain to! timing simply couldn't be better. haha...what would i do without her? and i learnt some very important stuff...and i felt better after that. then it started to rain and i ran home in the rain. theraputic experience...made me feel refreshed and my brain felt recharged, but i need time before i actually look at any equations again.

man, it's gonna be a long semester i tell you...

yeah first day of school was ok. partly because it was purely lectures...i mean how bad can lectures get? and since it was the first lecture for the sem, i gladly paid attention to most...maybe except of physics. well, let's just say that optics isn't exactly my favourite topic (shhh...) haha.

i'm going to try my best to keep up with the workload this sem. last sem, it was the falling behind that killed me. so this sem i must make sure it doesn't happen again. cannot lose steam...so must press through the entire sem. instead of chiong-ing the front part and dying behind.

and thanks to jacW for teaching me chem. know i can be really quite blood-sucking at times cos i don't get stuff that fast. jac pro lah jac...A student. =X

ok lah, tomorrow 8:30 lesson. goodbye everyone.
hope i get my physics elective!!! i got accounting already...so yeah, me and accounting must be friends next sem - as jh says.

today we did improvisation and basic rift composition. enjoyed it really. DC brought in his wah-pedal in to show us. somehow i think that playing EG is one thing, playing EG with pedal is another totally different thing. but i believe i won't be getting a pedal anytime soon...not until i become super pro and play like super-expert level guitar. haha. so i can go on dreaming...

the new year has come, but it does feel weird that a new year doesn't mean a start to a new school year. unlike in primary, secondary or JC when a new year meant going up a level and going to a new class and all the stuff. now it's just a continuation. part deux...just isn't the same. the novelty of the new year simply isn't there.

anyways, i really do hope things will turn out better next sem...i really did have a memorable time last sem. now that i've quit my CE and all, i know i can have more time for my EG and mug-euphoria...wahaha.

ok it's back to the sh*t pit for all us students/teachers...let's hit it!
