ok i wanted to blog earlier, but afeter i upoaded the pics, i went over another window to settle my subject registration and then fell asleep cos i was so tired and forgot to switch off my room lights and video that was playing. so of course i forgot about the window with my pics and about blogging.

AV chalet turned out to alright in the end...at least to myself. despite the poor turnout we expected -- due to last minute pullouts...loads of them. great big yay to those who came! we had a great time catching up, talking about the situtaiton in AV currently, how it was in the past...the differences...what had happened along the way...and all that. drove everyone looney. somethings haven't changed...

the people who came were those who really cared about the people and the CCA. and i'm totally touched by the t'cher support we got. thanks to msY, ASC and msG for the CAKES...cheese and chocolate. thanks to mrsS for the fried rice...thanks to mrI for coming down to join us and all tahan-ing all the lame jokes we made the entire night. haha...food was nice and not burnt at all.

in the night, we spent the time watching comedies like whose line and some other stand-up improptu stuff. laughed till my jaws were aching. and then in the morning, LH and i went to escape with the comp tickets we had. had not too bad a time though many rides were closed and quite a few were out of service...

after that i went back to campus to visit popular...and to PS for EG. EG was nice only 3 + 1 of us. learnt rifts and intro to message in a bottle and another sting song (i.e. can't remember title). after that i drove to suntec to meet up with NYAV food-talk session. i was totally drained by the time i got home.

eating, laughing, talking...choking. haha...see the nice food on the table? wah yeah! *shioks*

group pic. everyone...or make that almost everyone~

and i can still smell the food...yummy~!

Talk - Coldplay

Oh, brother, I can’t, I can’t get through
I’ve been trying hard to reach you
Cause I don’t know what to do
Oh, brother, I can’t believe it’s true
I’m so scared about the future
And I want to talk to you
Oh, I want to talk to you

You could take a picture of something you see
In the future where will I be
You could climb a ladder up to the sun
Or write a song nobody had sung
Or do something that’s never been done

Are you lost or incomplete
Do you feel like a puzzle
You can’t find your missing piece
Tell me how you feel
Well, I feel like they’re talking in a language I don’t speak
And they’re talking it to me

So you take a picture of something you see
In the future where will I be
You could climb a ladder up to the sun
Or write a song nobody had sung
Or do something that’s never been done
Or do something that’s never been done

So you don’t know where you’re going
And you want to talk
And you feel like you’re going where you’ve been before
You'll tell anyone who’ll listen but you feel ignored
And nothing’s really making any sense at all
Let’s talk, let’s talkLet’s talk, let’s talk

not too bad. today's EG was great in fact. haha...we had such good fun. 4 of us lunatics and one raging mad man. we were just jamming to sting's roxanne. then we checked out a few other tracks on the police greatest hits while DC showed off his guitar power jamming to nearly every single track. impressive man. then we studied a bit of sting's music style and how the song "every breath you take" is out of tune...haha. then we were saying how old songs may be better to learn from because they're more interesting and use lesser FX. he was saying how he liked LP but couldn't play a LP song with an acousitc guitar. hmm. discussed a bit, then went on to do sight reading (yes guitar also got sight reading de) we were having fun with that too cos i was playing the second phrase to some of the songs which had a second phrase and making a freakin' fool of myself -- talk about a breakthrough.

somewhere toward the end, there was the beeping beeping sound going off from one of the amps. DC thought it was his handphone and took it out and checked. but nope, no message...so he paused, waited and continued to look at his handphone. but no, still no call or message. then suddenly i felt my phone vibrating. so i took it out. haha the look of disappointment on his face. funny.

anyways, i met 'son after that and went to eat thai express and then walk around PS. leaving PS at about 9+ ran into DC on our way out. 'son made an attempt to attract his attention only to gain his look of "huh-ness".

ok lah. i really don't know what else to say. AVchalet's on wednesday. tomorrow i got some stuff to settle, like getting a haircut and then visit uncle doc. then probably join JD and company at sim lim and later come back and get the fish done for wednesday. yes so that's my hectic life for now. school's starting soon you know...must maximise time. MORE EG ON THURSDAY!!! i can't be happier.

so much for christmas. just kept playing MS at 'ron's place. we didn't much do much talking whatsoever...well, i always talk to 'ron anyway, so yesterday was not much of a 'special' get-togther with him, but the rest.

today' i'm going to 'vin's house just cos i want to know how to drive everyone to the chalet on wednesday. sigh...i feel so scheming and hypocritical. but what can i do? i wonder what has changed over the years. back when the 3 of us were inseparable.

now i guess some of us have our own ideals...or make that all of us have our different ideals and going for different stuff. when we were in the same school or rather in primary school, all of us faced the same thing. until we went to secondary school, when it was different everywhere i.e. different subject combinations, did different things during non-school times...the probably it got worse but not as bad. but when it came to post-secondary...guess we really drifted. cos i made the choice to go to JC but they didn't.

no one has made any wrong choice. we just made different choices. but it seems human to think that your own choice reigns superior...argh. in the end, the family tie remains, but has faded. yet for me and 'ron it hasn't...despite all the crap though it has strained a little...we try to give and take a bit...but apparently not everyone plays by those rules.

this whole human-behaviour and human-reaction thing still puzzles me up till today. i wish i knew what each person's every action or word really means, then i won't have to play the guessing game all the time...right tong shou?

think sometimes we make things more complicated than they actually are...we humans. sigh...who knows? i'm most probably one of them.

so much for christmas. we're off to 'vin's place. kind of hope we don't stay long. i'm quite tired from yesterday.

ok gotta go now. haha out!

just when it had slipped to the back of my mind...it had to be brought up again. thanks man. i appreciated it. sigh...now that i think of it, it really makes me curious on what really happened. is this supposed to be one of those life's biggest mysteries thing? i hope not, because i'd be really sad...now i'm not sad, more of troubled and curious. i want to know how certain people got the idea they have about it. hmm...is it from the source itself? i really want to know quite badly. but who am i going to get info out of without any awkwardness.

well, at least today was a nice day other than the above thing. i managed to contact msG and we've got a pretty decent number of people to come from the different batches...oh yeah...including grey badge ok! so glad we're doing a pretty good job.

ok i'm off to watch tv. yesh.

politics exists everywhere i guess. there's nothing specific i wish to say here. but if i meet you i'd probably tell you what i'm talking about exactly...if i think you would understand what i'm talking about that is.

looks like i'm going to go for 21 AU next semester. yes say i'm nuts.

trip back to see the juniors was pretty interesting. got to talk to them a lot and promote our chalet once again. hopefully i can be a channel for my juniors when they need stuff. we have a new teacher IC for AV - mrI he seems like a cool dude...hopefully things take a turn for the better. no more dreaded mojojojo...glad to see that mrM is getting his dreaded fat a*beep*s out of the school and msL kept to her end of the deal. yeah...i'm quite happy today that my views are still held in high regard.

ok i'm really really tired. going for lunch with one of the VIP gang tmr. erm...VIP being we-know-what-kind-of-people. hmm...since when do i make sense here anyway?

let's see...today i met lh at amk central to check out chalet stuff. glad to see that there's progress in our organisation. haha. so we went around ntuc surveying prices and stuff...checking out what we should or should not buy and how much moolah we'd need. and yes we've done what we needed to do.

after finishing up the work, we went to mos to chill while i had my lunch. while there, we called up a couple of people to check if they were coming for the chalet -- ah the life of an organiser. hmm...thanks to esther who thought i was some guy trying to pick her up...simply hilarious. lucky lh was around to clarify stuff. hope esther wasn't traumatised though...

after that we made a trip back to sn to visit ASC and disrupt her work schedule heh. while lh went to check out some relief teaching stuff. i talked to ASC about some stuff i've been thinking about. sometimes the most unlikely people that i thought i could talk to turn out to be the best people to talk to. i think my thoughts are like up to my head already...she could tell i was in some kind of big loss. haha.

you know, i shall not announce my results due to specific reasons.
ask me...and i may tell you. for those whom i've told...it's ONLY for you to know.

but as with all things, results are but relative...relative to expectations. and it can only work 2 ways...either the former being too low or the latter being too high. whichever it is, as long as both do not meet a range of feelings or opinions may be evoked.

i don't know if i should be happy or sad. i just feel i need to work harder.

don't know why it's like that this time...perhaps a change in perspective...or maybe the excitement there once was that came attached with getting one's results have faded. maybe i didn't know what to expect. maybe i expected too much. expected too little. or what i expected was what came out.

one thing's for sure i won't accept anything less than what i have this sem next sem. so...say it was a high target to set, say it's possible to seek nothing but improvement. but i have my targets set and the engines are roaring to go. bring it on!

today was ok i guess. first went back to campus to get books for next sem. i was pangseh-ed actually, but it's alright, cos my very nice tong shou was there on campus. so i went to entertain her instead. then we went down to town for sushi buffet wheelock -- that's 3 days of 2 meals of buffet for you. i feel like a pig. after that i drove down to PS to walk around before EG. after EG, i rushed home to see my resutls.

i think i was very not on form today for EG. grrs...could have so played better lah! think DC noticed it cos he esp came to correct my chord. sigh. i guess something wasn't right...maybe it's cos i haven't played properly in 3 weeks.

'common, with only me and fiz in class, i'm sure he noticed. he seemed pretty puzzled at what i was doing. well, it was me and fiz till ryan arrived. so it was a 3 people class today...ok make that 4 including DC. and i think DC put way too much cologne today. hmm. everyone's nose was twitching. heh.

we did Roxanne by The Police today. it was a nice song made up of bar and power chords with slides...so no solo to show off. haha. and i'm glad to announce, i have 3 EG session in the next week alone. YAY!

so it was a very impromptu day. just seeing what i needed to do and did stuff. hmm...sometimes it's a good thing to spend a day like that...as for results...i'm relieved but not satisfied.

more than it seems. more than it is. when you play...it's not supposed to be just a sound, it's a soul. that translates...thoughts and dreams into a means of transferance. good musicians know what it is. something from nowhere...that enables you to play...and play...and play. and when you see them play, there's something there.

yeah, as simple as that. to create the sound and the feel. hmm...seems pretty cheem. shall master it one day...or at least make my attempt.

i'm on a concert fest, watching DVDs of concert after concert. the power of music really seems unbelievable. hmm.

currently inspired by the edge of U2.

ok i just wanted to say today's visit sort of gave me time to resolve the things i've been thinking about. the idea of cutting down on audio stuff for a while and concentrate on EG. i've always had my doubts about cutting down on doing audio stuff cos somehow i thought i would feel lousy upon doing so. but i'm thinking of venturing into other areas like arts management. and i've realised my interest isn't just about audio...it's more than that. and i guess time off will enable me to take a step back and give me more time to experiment with stuff i like to do. so i have decided that's what i'll do. there's nothing wrong with taking a step back, and in fact i believe getting a little involved in the performance aspect will enable me to understand my audio better.

therefore...i'm formally and finally announcing this:
I'M QUITTING CONCERT ENGINEERS. 100% FOR SURE.
yes you did not see wrong. say i don't have commitment or am irresponsible. whatever it is, i have my reasons...and i need not convince anyone but myself. anyway i believe i'm not irreplacable.

sometimes it's more than the work that determine how you work. it's the people you work with. i don't dislike/hate/any-other-negative-word the CE people...it's just that i think there's something short there, perhaps it's just myself wanting to take a new perspecitve. oh wells.

i'm glad i went for EY event today. really did help me sort stuff out. like, doing audio 100% may mean i may never get to be an SM (stage manager) again. not the kind of opportunities i get in CE. so...yeah i'm outta there once and for all. thanks to ana, grace and the laselle peeps most of whom i'm unsure of their names (once again i apologise for my lousy memory)...hope to meet up with you guys soon!

know what? the esplanade thingy thing turned out very great! learnt a whole great deal of stuff and made a couple of new friends. the guides were friendly and helpful. ok i shall stop before i sound like a commercial.

although most of the people there were theatre students, it was still alright. there was another civil-engineer-in-training not sure where he's from though. hmm...this time was more general than the other time i guess.

i don't know what to blog about exactly. oh and the food was good. my thoughts aren't really very coherent right now...are they? yes, and i think parking there is expensive though. oh and i learnt a lot about concession rates. very encouraging to people like me who always want to go watch show but kinda stingy...now if i can just find people interested to go with me. what about that fellow EYs?

i like the song. -- see lyrics below. i think lifehouse is another one of those bands that i like. they tend to come up with songs with nice tune and occasionally VERY nice lyrics. LOOK at the part i highlighted in yellow, what more need i say?...not forgetting the lead singer has a nice (or should i say unique) voice. just like bands like matchbox and switchfoot...hmm. i think being in a band is definitely a 'high' experience. too bad i'm not in one. or else i would know more.

today i was thinking about " qing1 chu1 yu3 lan2". i remember in primary school my chinese teacher made us guess the meaning to that cheng2 yu3 and i tried but didn't get it. took the thing too literally. then she explained it to me and told me that one day she hopes that i would be an example she can use when she teaches the cheng2 yu3 to my juniors. well she has retired and i feel bad. i wonder if i've done anything worthy for her to be proud of...don't even talk about being more outstanding than she is. she's one of the most inspiring people i know but i feel i haven't talked to her and thanked her enough. things i didn't know how to say to her back then but now i do...yet i don't know how i can get in touch with her cos she's no longer with the school.
why did i even think about this? cos i was back in TP today. after going one of the JCs in s'pore to settle some of 'son's academic matters -- if you know what i mean. passed PC and went to central for lunch. suddenly all the memories came back. where were the days of my primary school and the PC i once knew? sigh. it's gone perhaps...at least physically. the building is different now, and nothing i can relate to. the spirit of the school has changed or perhaps more of diminished. fellow PC-ians will agree with me i believe. things aren't the same anymore.

went to NLib tdoday. well actually i only used the NLib carpark to be exact. i was at BB complex walking around the newly-renovated Pop. bought loads of stuff. including a water cushion for my chair (hopefully more comfort would bring about greater academic efficiency). the new Pop is really big, 5 floors of it. i think the rest of BB complex can just close down given Pop's size...ok maybe the rest of BB complex excluding SweeLee and AF. visited this shop that sells all the design books too. interesting. after that drove down to ikea for meatballs (hey i can't help it...)

can see how much driving i did today? no wonder my right leg aches.

where are my results?! the fact that they're not out yet is driving me nuts. i've been having nightmares all over again. no different from how the results for the As were. i just hope they don't come out too screwed. i don't know what to or what i should expect. freaky.

i wonder if the rest of my world are back in s'pore. i'm bored. haven't been to TP (not that mentioned above, the other one...) in nearly a whole week -- what an accomplishment. partly because i've been feeling ill the past week and i've been lazy and caught up with other stuff like gaming. but i think i'll be heading there soon starting next week? wonder if mrsT's back. not that i intend to run into her, just curious. it seems weird going to TP knowing i definitely won't meet her. in fact, it's a little sad. haha...better not say too much lest i run into people like GW again. wahaha...

my fan is demonstrating the concept of resonance to me every time i turn it on. because natural frequency = driving frequency. so i need to change the natural frequency of my fan or modify the driving frequency of the oscillation of the blades or else i'll be kept awake through the night. yes, can anyone tell i'm still sane?

going to esplanade tomorrow for some function thingy-thing. think i need to figure out how to make my way there then go to sleep so that i can wake up in time.

Lifehouse - Blind Lyrics

I was young but I wasn't naive
I watched helpless as he turned around to leave
And still I have the pain I have to carry
A past so deep that even you could not bury if you tried

After all this time
I never thought we'd be here
Never thought we'd be here
When my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more than you'll ever know
A part of me died when I let you go

I would fall asleep
Only in hopes of dreaming
That everything would be like is was before
But nights like this it seems are slowly fleeting
They disappear as reality is crashing to the floor

After all this time
I never thought we'd be here
Never thought we'd be here
When my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more than you'll ever know
A part of me died when I let you go

After all this time
Would you ever wanna leave it
Maybe you could not believe it
That my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more than you will ever know

A part of me died when I let you go
And I loved you more than you'll ever know
A part of me dies when I let you go

i feel obliged to do a review of 2005 before my exam results come out and spoil my nice feeling about 2005. note: i do not have a good feeling about my exam results. and i know if i ask anyone now they'll say they don't either...whether what they say is true, i do not know. but for me...i know myself.

year 2005...perhaps the greatest significant thingy that happened this year is me starting to drive. driving has given me an all new perspective. yet i know people around me have mixed reactions to me starting to drive. but again, that's the least of my concerns. i know that driving has really given me more freedom and efficiency yet limting other aspects. i try not to go into town cos parking is ex. but i know i like driving itself. feels like you're flying. "the car is my wings and the road is my wind" haha...and no one to restrict you. you walk less...and let's see what else. actually on the whole i go out less. i don't know if it's my uni life or this...but i tend to go school and go home...oh and go for EG @ PS. haha...

probably another thing would be starting uni life. again, i know most people around me didn't like this new life...or at least seem like they didn't. but i like it. i'm happy in uni. no doubt about it. the what-have-you-reasons of starting a new life doing what you want to do at long last and no more school uniforms etc. but for me, the greatest bit is probably meeting my tutorial group. some of whom have cried at the knowledge that we're going to split up next year. yes, i mean cry literally. these people have really rocked my life. and i can't thank them enough, because if not for them...i would definitely not have made it for some of my subjects...and these people know who they are. B12 rawks...whatever they do i think the class spirit will stay on and friday suppers will remain a 'tradition' for quite a while...

ok lah, this is turning into some sort of essay. craps.
wonder when the results are coming out.

i need to do things to clear up the mess in my room. note that this is a cycle. i mess up my room, clear the mess then mess it up again. just that the frequency seems to be increasing in recent times.

know i haven't been blogging properly. due to the lack of inspiration or stuff like that.

no EG again today. DC was on urgent leave. i've been deprived of EG for like 3 looong weeks now and i'm feeling all sick and depressed. at least he'll have to make-up 2 of them. so i'll have a EG fest soon.

nothing has been going on. suddenly i realise there's nothing much to do. this has been happening rather often in recent years. when i was in AV there was no such problem. that's why i never hated the long hours of rehersals/dry-runs. but then again, the people you work with do matter...

ok maybe i should look forward to AVchalet. hmm.

today i was not bored. i went somewhere. with nice food. had company for lunch. can't be even more grateful. haha rite jacW?

the company was good. talking about a whole lot of things. it's been so long since i sat down, stopped and talked for this length of time. although i my personal opinion may sometimes differ from what's being said, it's alright...it was interesting to hear what people thought anyway. thoughts about people, behaviour of people, situations, ways of doing things etc etc...see i told you we talked about a lot of things.

it's not often i get to listen to people talk...willing to listen...willing to hear me talk. interested to see what i know and what i think. believe that's what frequency is all about (no not the oscillation thingy). but...it's just not a common thing. it's not everyone that i can talk to without self-restriction. and resonance doesn't always occur...only when natural frequency = driving frequency. though my thoughts seem to be changing...hmm...

haha wish i can have such company for lunch everyday. -- probably only in my dreams. i don't have the good fortune to spare so much time. hmm...hey, i can be busy too you know? hopefully next time NIE will be a good meeting spot. haha..the food's nice there

actually i wonder whether i'm doing enough...enough work i mean, like...given the amount of things i'm putting in, how much will i get out of it...and will it be enough to get me to where i want to go. well, next sem hope i'll be able to pick up without any troubles...then maybe...it'll happen. hmm...

today i rearranged my room. i now have my comp and work space in front of my window. the idea was to make use of more natural sunlight. it was a lot of work. no kidding. so in the end didn't get any time to jam. now i'm depressed.

ok, i'm off to watch the news now and later watch mad science show on central. whoooohoooo~

ok i'm back after a long break from posting. cos i didn't have access to any computer for the past week or so. i was out of the country. away from everyone i needed to be away from and everything i wanted to be away from. a period of time-out is good for everyone i guess.

the past week i've seen a lot of things. the trip to TWN really turned out better than i expected. maybe cos i didn't expect much. usually after the plane ride i'd arrive in the destination feeling sick. but this time it didn't happen, probably the main reason why i thought it was a good trip. the weather in TWN was fantastic. cold the way i like it...esp the last few days when the temperature in TP dipped to 10 degrees.

i've seen the different places, been to night markets. i realised i don't like bamboo shoots cos they smell like sh*t and make me sick. hey, i'm not the only one who said so. the smelly beancurd (direct translation) was another thing. i can't decided which smells worse...just know they made me feel sick. who said going to TWN implied a definite weight gain was wrong.

well, i think it was an ok place. night markets are nice cos they happen at night -- my favourite time of the day (or night?) hmm...it's nice to see everyone squeezing around pushing up and down -- it's like a pre-CNY nian2huo4 shopping except that it occurs every single night. the concepts were simple...though the make-shift food stalls in these places were probably pretty unhygenic by the standards of our country explains SOMEONE's food poisoning accident. how sad.

then there was the tribal and traditional stuff like fengshui and chinese medicine i wonder if i can even call it that cos some of it really has no basis for belief. like drinking ground deer baby to improve one's asthmatic problem? hmm personally i found that by going to less temples, it would probably bring about a better and more effective cure. in there, it probably wasn't the aircon as a someone mentioned, but more likely the temples -- incense smoke or something. but everyone makes their own choices. if you decide to drink powdered deer baby with water to heal (or attempt to heal) your respiratory problem then it's not my right to stop you. but...nope, don't find it making sense...but it's how you argue it.

seen a lot of temples, seen people getting their fortune told and seen people paying hundreds to thousands of bucks to improve their "luck". whether i personally believe these stuff or not isn't the critical matter, it's the new perspectives that i tried to adopt that made this holiday nice.

silence and taking my mind off everything. probably why i found it enjoyable. i minded my own business and let everyone else do what they wanted.

ok, i'm off to sleep. need to pack or make that unpack my stuff tomorrow. oh, i bought a couple of gyroscopes from there...interesting stuff...
