haha i know this is probably none of anyone's concern, but today i played a GIBSON LP!!! and let me just say to remind myself that the tone on that piece of genius is GREAT (so is the price tag but that's not the point).

and really, i am VERY happy. because it's the most fantastic tone i've heard...the guitar with the most fantastic tone i've played in my lifetime so far. i mean, i have heard many fantastic tones (from like clapton and van halen and stuff) over the past few years since i started playing, but it's different when you run your fingers through the fretboard and hear it as you play yourself. by the way, i'm wondering how insane i sound.

basically it's something like test driving a Ferrari...you know how good the engine performance is, seen the car in action and stuff and you know you surely can't afford it, but you get the chance to test drive it round the carpark.

ultimate thanks to the guy at SL who brought the Gib out of the glass room and let me play with it. i was testing out the Epis (part of Gib that makes more budget stuff) and i told him i dream of buying an actual Gibby LP one day...then he tells me to wait for him while he gets something...and he comes back with the LP gleaming in the light. and he didn't need to do it cos i was definitely not going to buy it...the guy rocks, and whoever said that the services at SL sucks should just F*off.

but i had to ask him to take it away before i got myself to the point of no return and die-die had to leave the shop with the thing. haha...

anyway my last axe is probably some where near...already have a targeted piece of equipment i plan to get, but just need to consolidate my resources for a couple of days cos my budget has been exceeded (haha i'm not buying the gibby yet, but soon, hopefully)...

axe-related stuff aside, we're into our 3rd day of mission see-no-touch today...but i'm still at the observations stage and i haven't much reached a conclusion and decided what opinions i have. it's unbearably slow this time, somehow i want to make sure i know what i'm thinking before i start shooting my mouth off (somewhat like what i did today) and pissing people off...

i still can't get that nice, crunchy, full tone out of my head...today is a happy happy day!
Gibson LP $7k
Guitar pick $0.60
100W Fender Amp $1k
Being in ultimate tone heaven PRICELESS
(prices not 100% accurate and to be taken as a guide only)

if you have read this post and think i'm insane...ok lah, i think i might just be. heh...

it's weird. i don't know if anyone notices it, but i'm finding it increasingly difficult to focus. on the simple things...even like when people talk to me, i can't even listen anymore, my brain will switch off and what i see is the person's mouth moving and blabbering coming into my ears but i don't know what the hell the poor person is saying.

i have to do something about it. hmm...

anyways, the trip to genting was alright i guess. didn't have a whole lot of excitement but i don't think that was what i needed anyway. i spent a whole weekend doing nothing at a far away place. spent a day in the casino...everytime i entered, the guy die-die wanted to check my IC. after a few times, it felt like i was some cop flashing my badge...pretty cool. my purpose of going in was more to observe than anything else, and played a couple of rounds of different kinds of jackpot. haha...i like the normal analog traditional ones compared to the digital computer game-like ones...

we had a lot of green tea ice blended too. it's a nice drink, but no idea whether they sell it in singapore, and if they do, i think i can't afford to drink it that often either.

aiyah ok lah...going to read some stuff...

and today marks the end of EID. in all honesty it was really 5 weeks of hell. a hell lot of work, and learnt a hell lot of stuff. i never thought i would have survived this but somehow we did as a group. and i definitely understand what i'm going to be doing in the future clearer...that's if i choose this path. for the past few weeks i've wondered how things would be different now if i had chosen a different path. the prize we got at the end was just an extra.

just wanna thank profH for being so harsh with us, he taught us so much...and he didn't even need to bother about us.

thanks to profB for being so boh liao, making my life so much more bearable. i go to this guy for the smallest, most insignificant crappy problems that i'm supposed to be able to solve by myself, and he just helps me with whatever i need...sometimes i really feel so bad.

ah well, photos coming soon...

FINALLY i can sleep in peace! good night guys...have fun.

after 5 weeks of hell, we're almost there...the end is near. just a couple more days before i have freedom...well temporary freedom. for a couple of weeks then i'm off to some island to do my industrial attachment.

i've mentioned this a lot of times, i've learnt more stuff in this 5 weeks than in my entire 2 lousy years in the course. well, at least i now know what i don't know...and it's freaky because the more i know, the more i feel i will probably end up in teaching for the rest of my life.

anyway will be back to blog more soon...
