haha i know this is probably none of anyone's concern, but today i played a GIBSON LP!!! and let me just say to remind myself that the tone on that piece of genius is GREAT (so is the price tag but that's not the point).
and really, i am VERY happy. because it's the most fantastic tone i've heard...the guitar with the most fantastic tone i've played in my lifetime so far. i mean, i have heard many fantastic tones (from like clapton and van halen and stuff) over the past few years since i started playing, but it's different when you run your fingers through the fretboard and hear it as you play yourself. by the way, i'm wondering how insane i sound.
basically it's something like test driving a Ferrari...you know how good the engine performance is, seen the car in action and stuff and you know you surely can't afford it, but you get the chance to test drive it round the carpark.
ultimate thanks to the guy at SL who brought the Gib out of the glass room and let me play with it. i was testing out the Epis (part of Gib that makes more budget stuff) and i told him i dream of buying an actual Gibby LP one day...then he tells me to wait for him while he gets something...and he comes back with the LP gleaming in the light. and he didn't need to do it cos i was definitely not going to buy it...the guy rocks, and whoever said that the services at SL sucks should just F*off.
but i had to ask him to take it away before i got myself to the point of no return and die-die had to leave the shop with the thing. haha...
anyway my last axe is probably some where near...already have a targeted piece of equipment i plan to get, but just need to consolidate my resources for a couple of days cos my budget has been exceeded (haha i'm not buying the gibby yet, but soon, hopefully)...
axe-related stuff aside, we're into our 3rd day of mission see-no-touch today...but i'm still at the observations stage and i haven't much reached a conclusion and decided what opinions i have. it's unbearably slow this time, somehow i want to make sure i know what i'm thinking before i start shooting my mouth off (somewhat like what i did today) and pissing people off...
i still can't get that nice, crunchy, full tone out of my head...today is a happy happy day!
Gibson LP $7k
Guitar pick $0.60
100W Fender Amp $1k
Being in ultimate tone heaven PRICELESS
(prices not 100% accurate and to be taken as a guide only)
if you have read this post and think i'm insane...ok lah, i think i might just be. heh...

Beneath the noise, below the din,
I hear your voice, it's whispering,
in science and in medicine,
I was a stranger, you took me in...
