no more lab!!!

but should i be happy or sad? it means exams are seriously darn near...and i will miss the company of my insane lab-mates...sigh.

and so i need to get to work again. i feel like sh*t, literally. but who wants to listen to me complain about the same stuff all over again.

did some van halen stuff at EG. i'm pretty certain van halen is not left-handed. ask me and i'll tell you why if i'm free. i guess DC didn't really know what he wanted to do today until he flipped around his stuff. so we had tabs written all over the board. and i was lazy to copy the stuff because tabs aren't very easy to copy either, so i just took out my phone and photographed everything. DC thought i was photographing him. OMG so thick-skinned. his head was blocking the last 4 bars of the solo, so i asked him to siam. haha darn funny lah. but i'm happy with the song we learnt today. it's just another great technique to add to the stuff i already know.

oh and let me add, i think DC sounds weird playing hard rock/metal stuff. sounds a bit too refined. haha his rendition of enter sandman a bit too 'perfect' in a sense. none of those rock noises...if you know what i mean.

hmm...had this discussion with DC today about why i didn't take up left-handed guitar instead...so i asked him back the same question - ended up we both have more or less the same reasons.

i observed today that if you walk fast and lean forward far enough, you can look like you're flying.

anyways...i do wonder if this is the maximum stress studying can bring. because if there's anything beyond this, logic and reason may not be a constant...something like theory of relativity.

no i can't take it much longer, and i hope some miracle will drop from the sky and hit my head and suddenly i'll understand all the lectures i've missed/not comprehended/forgotten. yeah, then maybe things will get better and my future won't appear that hazy. sigh.

we just covered metallica's Enter Sandman during EG. wow the song rocks man...now i know why people like to play hard rock, head banging stuff. great great way to de-stress i tell you. mrsT can hate me for all she wants...i love head-banging!!!

i've been asked to put audio/video clips of my jamming online...i'm considering it, but i think at the moment it's quite impossible to find time to do that. sigh. ok lah, maybe after my exams i'll do a set up like a webcam and mic or something. for now...live sessions only. bwahahaha...

today's maths test was ok i guess...it could have been worse given the miserable efforts i've put into studying. sigh...i should learn that i cannot be so lucky all the time. another test on friday ad assignment due tomorrow. i want to bang my head on the wall and die.

hmm looks like i will have my very first public performance a couple of days after my final exams. well...it's a solo and acoustic set. so yeah. i wonder how it'll turn out. i'll be paid doing what i like...sneak preview to life ahead i hope. anyways...nothing's confirmed yet. i have 5 songs on the set list and i've mastered 1.5 of them. think i should have enough time.

the number of tests/project/reports due in the next couple of weeks is terrible not to mention the exams that i have yet to start studying for. probably going to be living in my own world unless you're from my EG class or are jh, gs or people from my eng classes, i doubt i'll run into you - either online or physically...just know that i'm still alive. alright. off to sleep...before more hell breaks loose tomorrow.

OH! and eric clapton is coming to singapore!!! WHOOOOOHOOOO!!!! can not be happier (unless U2 suddenly comes down too). wow i know it's still a long way before that but it's fantastic. of course i'm going down to watch him. power sia!

in mechanics of materials we learn about stresses/strains and failure of the different materials in structures etc. and today in tutorial i think what my prof mentioned really struck a chord in me. can't help but agree on how true it is. when we consider the different factors affecting a struture, all it takes for the thing to fail is if one condition is overstepped. and even if all the other conditions are met, all it takes is for ONE parameter to be miscalculated and the entire structure fails.

he was saying how much it applies to life as well. it's hard to succeed because in order to succeed we need to constantly ensure all varibles are met. to fail, it only takes one varible to go wrong. seesh. the stuff we learn...
