my computer has DIED. it's not THAT old. WHY did it die?
i installed some update so had to restart and that was it, it shut down and never started up again. now i can't power up at all...i.e. pressing power button does not create any life in my com. great time to die eh, when school's going to start. the guy is coming down on monday to service my PC, which thankfully is still under warranty, so that means i will not be in school monday morning. and if they can't get it fixed i will probably not be online that much till i get my com up and running again.

now, i'm surfing on my father's laptop. but what to do?
so if you guys need me, can just sms or give me a call...then again, i doubt anyone's looking for me. have fun guys. wish i had another week or two of breaks like my counterparts at other places. sucks man.

i'm playing a game of scrabble with my aunties and getting thrashed! help.
their scores are all like 100+ and i'm stuck at 91.
why are my tiles always so sucky and they keep getting the nice positions with all the 2x word etc.

last one week. and still a lot of stuff to do.
  • finish and clear up music theory to at least 85-90% certainty
  • learn more songs (hopefully around 10-15 more songs)
  • consolidate all the guitar stuff done
  • pack up and organise my stuff to get ready for school
  • have more fun
  • maybe a trip back to NY
  • maybe a trip down to sentosa to check out how the hotel is progressing
  • maybe ride cable car (last time i rode it was when i was 3 or younger i think)

oh ya reminder to self:
ron's cable car tickets are still with me, should use soon...

totally not looking forward to school at all. the future seems so bleak. lousy honours, unsure life. yuck.

haha this song has been stuck in my head for the past week or so.
it's the kind of song that brightens my day...and it has to be so catchy.
i can't get the tune out of my head.
have been listening to one of ELO's greatest hits things recently. they sure are unique...

Sun is shinin' in the sky
There ain't a cloud in sight
It's stopped rainin' ev'rybody's in a play
And don't you know
It's a beautiful new day hey,hey

Runnin' down the avenue
See how the sun shines brightly in the city
On the streets where once was pity
Mister blue sky is living here today hey, hey

Mister blue sky please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long
Where did we go wrong?

Hey you with the pretty face
Welcome to the human race
A celebration, mister blue sky's up there waitin'
And today is the day we've waited for

Hey there mister blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around see what you do
Ev'rybody smiles at you

Mister blue sky, mister blue sky
Mister blue sky

Mister blue, you did it right
But soon comes mister night creepin' over
Now his hand is on your shoulder
Never mind I'll remember you this
I'll remember you this way

Mister blue sky please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long
Where did we go wrong?

Hey there mister blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around see what you do
Ev'rybody smiles at you

or if anyone is up for an acoustic version...
(wow this guy is PRO man. he uses chord inversions to voice the guitar solo and play the chords simultaneously. ARGH!)

i'm not sure whether to be happy that my engineering exposure has proved useful in real life, to be upset that there's a very high chance i'm going to suffer a great loss, or to be pissed (?) at someone for giving me false hope...

ok that said, i wish to express a personal opinion that i have held since i attended my uncle's phD convo like 10 years ago but has struck me only recently with everyone convocating recently...
i think that the academic dress goes better with pants (regardless of whether the graduant is male/female) because it just looks weird to see 2 (might i say pale) legs sticking out of the bottom of the robe. it gives the illusion that the someone is wearing nothing underneath the robe if one looks from behind. and not to mention it looks rather sloppy which is kinda against the purpose since the academic robe is, in my opinion, supposed to show how much intellectual stuff you've gained and people should look neat and smart in it.

hmm then again, maybe it's just me. or maybe the robe is just ugly...somewhat. haha...

my personal favourite...
"welcome to the 6 o'clock news our top story
i'm your anchor Thor Juzthinkinaboutit.
the great Jamboni, eccentric human cannonball, known for taking his lucky donkey for all his performances escaped near tragedy today when the donkey climbed into the cannon muzzle just as Jamboni was taking off. It took the surgeons 3 hours to remove Jamboni's head from his ass. Both are resting comfortably"

ok it's seriously damn hard to decide...because they are all so darn funny. don't believe me? watch lah. esp for people like JacW and Elizabeth who i know drop by occasionally. SERIOUSLY...must watch. and warning don't eat/drink and watch...really might puke out everything.

yeah...Teds Duhwayahhuhahhuhilikeit...
not happy? Keith Mypastiewhitebutt.

it's so weird...i keep getting these cuts on my first finger of my right hand. i don't know where they're coming from and they are affecting my guitar-ing! they are not very deep cuts, but are still cuts nonetheless...and it sucks because when i hold my pick i can feel my skin opening and it's painful enough for me lose focus.have to figure out where they're coming from...

but for now, i'm improvising with scotch tape (use your imagination). no lah i hold all the cuts close and put tape over them so that the cuts don't open when i start playing. problem is my grip on the pick is quite compromised...it's so slippery. but it's better than pain i guess. maybe a plaster might be a better solution. though too lazy to get one at the moment.

well...let me just say that if there are to be any more gatherings, they better happen soon. there's not much time left. i don't even want to think about it. yuck.
