it has all past so quickly. can't believe that CNY holiday is almost over. it has been non-stop action since saturday (i.e. CNY eve) but it was quite fun actually...*ahem* ang pow collection aside. but i'm glad and proud to say that i don't visit for the ang pows...but i wonder how many others do...

CNY eve...
'ron, 'vin, 'leen and the rest came over. didn't do much, just watched a bit of U2 concert on the big screen (any screen bigger than my 17" monitor is counted as "big") and because apparently my taste was so unique that no one wanted to watch U2 so my father played live 8 concert instead. but looked like no one was interested in watching shows where real bands play their own music...from my observation they prefer to watch shows where a performer (i won't say singer/musician) comes down the stage jiggling dancing to the music which wasn't written by him/herself and wearing strange elaborate costumes. it's weird because while i consider the former a concert and the latter a fashion show, i don't know what they considered the latter but they considered the latter a concert. hmm...something i don't understand.

after that we went to have dinner at jumbo SGCC. everything aside, i ran into joe whose family was also eating there. haha. food was ok lah...i won't say it was fantastic. but it's CNY eve so the food taste isn't given the limelight.

only 3 of us take photo cos we're on the same side of table.

CNY day 1...
i drove to ron's place and and saw msTSW...at 'ron's house we had a homecooked lunch whch was nice. duck and rendang was great. then the first of many gambling sessions began with small bets (max bet was $2 but not by me). caught up with a distant cousin whose my junior from NY...and ate somemore. when many of the people left, they let snoopy loose and i got to play with him. he's had a hair fur cut and looks very weird now but he's still as hyper and drools all over the place. hmm...then again it's his year so who cares what he does. and anyway, snoopy likes me cos he keeps lying down on my foot...which fees weird now that he doesn't have much fur.

later the whole bunch of us went to grandaunt3's place. we see most of those people only like once or twice a year. but they're warm people and i don't mind seeing them more often. gambled again...and talked to a few relatives (parents' cousins etc...it's complicated). then ate even more and gambled even more...talked and then ate again...so nothing much else to talk about. haha...

CNY day 2...
woke up so early and was still sleepy. drove to rach, rah and ben's house in bishan. this is usually the bunch of people i feel really out of place with. so i just stood around, while the rest of my cousins who were either a huge bunch older or younger than me were having their own conversations. most of my cousins who're in/are done with uni are in/were from biz...if not courses like law. erm...so they were first expressing shock at my choice of course...then later they were laughing in amusement at the number of modules i'm taking. so ended up playing/talking to my younger cousins instead. i talked to justin and learnt he's learnt how to swim. he likes red colour yaukult. a whole lot of other things he told me but i cannot remember. mind you, justin is only 5 years old...

after lunch was done, we went around singapore on some visiting spree. now i've been promoted to position of driver. so i drove my uncle, alvin -my cousin and 'son. haha...trip was enjoyable cos we were talking about many things other than the time i was caught on a 4-way race on the ECP. seesh. hmm alvin is studying in NBS so the next time i see him on campus i'll call him.

later in the evening we went to grandaunt5's house. i like grandaunt5 because she's always so nice to us. no matter what school we're in doing whatever course. as long as we enjoy what we're doing. there's no feeling of lousiness just cos we're not in the top schools. and her son and daughter (i.e. parents' cousins) are very nice to us...supposed to at least call them aunties or uncles but they seem nicer than some of my own cousins. i even managed to ask JL to go back for SN for fundraising stuff. left grandaunt5's house at 2am. and went to macs for more food...before KO-ing at home...

so here i am today, wondering what to do. supposed to go mrsT's house with my bro but he's going with he's friends instead so now i'm stuck at home wondering what i can do. not that i have nothing to do...i have like homework set 2 half-done and i'm hearing rumours of a maths quiz this week. though my tutuorial would technically be over for this week so probably next week.

and so we're back to the slogging pit...it can't be CNY every day right?

Beneath the noise, below the din,
I hear your voice, it's whispering,
in science and in medicine,
I was a stranger, you took me in...
