random reminder to self: sometimes even simple rifting will earn you the weirdest looks in the house.
though i can't really figure out if was because of my funny expression, they felt it was good but weren't expecting anything like that...or it was totally weird and inappropriate.
haha...at least it wasn't pretentious playing...and i won't regret it. but if i were to guess, i think it would have been because the band was ready but our band leader was not. in fact, the band thought it kicked ass man...so funny.
to me, rifting is in a way like surfing. because when you rift, esp in a band with only one guitarist, you are pretty much surfing on top of the bass and drums. the bassist and the drummer have to hold their own while you ride on top of their rhythm to produce the rift. they need to trust you to remain in key and in time while you need to trust them to keep up the rhythm. so you cannot get carried away and over-rift the bars you're allocated.
now, i talk like some pro. but honestly, i've only done it once, and it was flawless and felt like i was flying on top of the music and in a totally different realm. to the point where i didn't even care what anyone else thought. totally confidence boosting man...argh i miss the feeling, i need find time to jam again!!! jam with me and i will let back you to let you try it also. all i need is just ANOTHER GUITARIST. to lay the chord work...someone, anyone...argh!
i need to rift more because my standard is dropping. last week, i think DC has read into my interest in GGD and now at least there's some clue as to what kind of music i like. he was so happy, he started talk and talk about GGD ended up talking a lot and feeling very paiseh.
ok lah back to work.
i'm sick of questions like "jac, what are the length of the links", "jac, why did you not size the cam", "jac, how to attach the base". note: jac is not the do-er or everything. jac has done ALMOST everything though and i'm sure your tiny little brains should be able to figure stuff like this out. let's not spoil my happy musical mood. yesh.
