my safety shoe drank loads of mud today. so did my socks and my pants. AND during site walk, with all the bosses around. it was raining the whole of last night so it was super super muddy today.

for those of you guys who didn't know, mud is weird because when it's a thicker layer it tends to be sticky but when it's a thinner layer it tends to be slippery. and steel plates are placed on different parts of the site where the terrain gets difficult for heavy vehicles to pass....so...the layer of mud on the steel plate was quite thin since it was only recently placed there (over a big big mud pool - thick layer of mud). the plate was slightly sloped because the ground wasn't even. i was standing quite near the edge of the plate listening to the main con guy briefing us. suddenly i felt myself slipping...and before i knew it..."plop!" my entire left shoe was inside the mud pool and everyone just laughed. how humiliating.

let's just say today's not a good day lah. at least it's a short (sort of) week.
