last sunday i had to play this song. it was in 6/8. and there were only 2 of us...me and the piano man (woman) and because it was a guitar-based song, i had to do the main parts...oh yeah and did i mention the original track has a electric guitar base and i can only play acoustic (because of reasons).

throughout the song i was on edge. trying to keep in time...so i really tapped my foot because the song depended on it. but eventually it worked, nearly got it wrong one part because in my nervousness nearly went for the wrong chord, but eventually i quickly played a slash chord i happened to think off and disguised the error.

i guess we can't always be put in positions too comfortably. because usually we always play songs in 4/4. and at least i'm not the piano man (woman) who had to play the other 2 which were hymns. i saw her sweating in ultimate stress despite the place being like 20 degress C?

well she's new afterall (in terms of playing there...but in terms of skill and theory i bet she could whack me any day), and really she pulled it off quite nicely...with me laughing at her by the side somemore.

it's been a fine weekend. oh yeah, been asked to play next week and for camp. i don't think i'm going for the camp though although tim tried to entice me with the can-play-electric-thing. but next week i'm probably going to have another go.

oh and i used the Taylor guitar this time. it was great. it's a good thing the set up isn't to my preferences because if it was, i'll probably go GAS for a new acoustic faster and my Cort will end up untouched. but there is a difference between my guitar and one that costs twice as much as mine. when i held the wood i could feel the difference in quality...
