a couple of us were discussing that day why engineers tend to turn out so 'square'. we concluded that in a way it's just a requirement of the course.

the amount of stuff we have to understand (or remember -- depending on your attitude towards the act of learning) is unbelievable and we, like everyone else on earth, have only 24 hours a day. so, we learn to maximise our time by discussing tutorials or concepts we covered in lectures during so-called free-ier times which include mealtimes, travelling time (while walking from place to place on campus) and sometimes even toilet times (i don't want to know what those guys do). and the effect of long-term continuous discussion of physical concepts does have this squaring effect on people. don't believe me? try talking, thinking, writing in equations almost 24 hours a day without use of much language. ok, so physics grads have the same problem. if you study a course in chinese, you'd probably turn out cheena too right? no, only people like us would discuss controlled volume in the midst of lunch with bowls of udon soup. sigh.

my current status is still lagging. i wonder when the publisher will call me up to kpkb (read kao bei kao bu). i don't know what i'm going to tell him either - seriously. it's not that i'm not trying to catch up lah, it's quite difficult...i'm lagging for an average of 1.5 tutorials per module right now. and as you can tell from the timestamp of this message, i haven't slept tonight again. i cleared 1.5 miserable tutorials in one entire night, with this kind of n (efficiency) how can i finish my work? looks like recess week is going to be HELL. seesh.
