"...On the Q-time problems, it is good that many of you are participating. However, please do not take it with too extreme serious-ness. There is no penalty for not doing the problems but participation would give a small bonus marks to be added to the CA on 18 October."
wow, remember the times when our teachers were forcing us to do our homework? jac, remember how msT SW used to scream at us during geog/SS class because no one did her homework?
you see, this is the kind of thing that scares me about people in my course. Q-time is a small quiz that the prof gives in the middle of the lecture regarding the stuff that he just taught to test our understanding of what he just explained.
personally what i think the main objective is just to keep everyone on their toes and not skip lectures because it's an indirect way of taking attendance. it's so darn competitive sometimes, i wonder whether i'll surivive in this kind of environment.
i question whether there's a happy medium between not doing tutorials and being "0verly-serious" for stuff. because i seem to not be seeing it. i just know i have to keep up.
people tend to me motivated over different reasons, and for sure, bonus marks in is not really one of my motivations. yet, i have no choice but to keep up with stuff for the sake of my interesting in persuing anymore acad stuff in the future -- because graduating with anything lower than 2nd upper would mean a B. Eng marks the end of my ability to formally persue knowledge. sigh...it's just this mad rush that i still can't figure out. maybe some day i will.

haha, i think it's worse when i'm so lazy. if i was more hardworking like you (i know you'll say you're not but RELATIVE to me you are) i'd probably have less of a tough time.
