after spending the last 60 hours (thereabouts maybe slightly more) drifting in and out of sleep, jamming on guitar, eating instant noodles and watching TV i finally stepped out of my house. oh yeah...it's an achievement (i mean the staying at home part), trust me.
got myself Electrico's new album Hip City which i am listening to now. guitar work is great - yes, as a guitarist it's the first thing i recognise, the songs are nice too, some pretty nice solos in there which i wonder whether i'll learn (as in because of a matter of choice not ability) but i think they'll more of be inspiration to write my own rather than something for me to imitate exactly. speaking of which, i believe many of the songs in this album have inspiration drawn from singapore, it's just in time for national day! the band also dedicates the album to singapore musicians which goes to show how closely-knit the music in singapore is. generally there's still the Electrico feel and everything which i somehow like. a couple of more acoustic-sounding tracks which are nice...i'm very incoherent cos i'm getting thoughts as i'm listening to it - not a good time to do a review. it's a great album...support local talent, get your album now!
on that note, Baybeats is up starting tomorrow...anyone who wants to go down anytime this weekend, give me a call i'm most probably going down to check out the music and see if i can learn anything. should be quite interesting...

Beneath the noise, below the din,
I hear your voice, it's whispering,
in science and in medicine,
I was a stranger, you took me in...
